The Diploma of Community Welfare Work (CHC50702)* prepares trainees to work at a professional level in the Human Services industry. Once completed, trainees will be qualified to work in any number of government departments and non governmental organisations (NGOs) which service the community both in Australia and globally. During the course trainees will develop various skills to enhance their ability to communicate and aid the sector in which they decide to specialise. In addition to providing trainees with the communication skills necessary to be welfare workers, the course also incorporates a management component which prepares trainees for industry specific project management and incorporates targeted managerial skills to enhance team work effectiveness.
The course delivered at our campuses are provisionally recognised and accredited by the Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers (AIWCW).

On successful completion of this course, students are eligible to receive a Diploma of Community Welfare Work.
Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation may be recognised by Cambridge International College.

Assessment may be a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects. This course incorporates 400 hours of field placement within the welfare sector.
In order to become a member of the AIWCW graduates must obtain an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher in each band.
Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Community Welfare Work, trainees will have gained the skills and knowledge to apply for various position within the Community Services sector.
Graduates of the Diploma of Community Welfare Work will gain 120 credit points advanced standing in the the Bachelor of Social Science (CRICOS 034447K) at Edith Cowen University (Perth Campus)
The Diploma in Community Welfare Work is delivered over eight, 9 week terms. There is a two week break between each term as well as a 10 week break over the Christmas/Summer period.
The study mode is full time and consists of 20 hours per week. Trainees have the option to study in a daytime or evening schedule subject to availability.

*The CHC50702 Diploma of Community Welfare Work will continue to be offered in Melbourne in 2010. The College intends to offer a qualification from the new training package CHC08 Diploma of Community Services Work to replace the Diploma of Community Welfare Work
