The Diploma of Youth Work (CHC50502)* prepares trainees to work at a professional level in the youth services which is a vital sector of the human services industry. This involves working with children in areas such as community organisations, religious organisations, self-help organisations, local government and statutory services. During the course trainees will develop an understanding of indigenous culture and history, ethnic cultures and community cultures specific to youth services.
On successful completion of this course, students are eligible to receive Diploma of Youth Work.
Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation may be recognised by Cambridge International College.
Assessment include a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects.
On successful completion of the Diploma of Youth Work trainees will have gained the skills and knowledge to work as a case manager, early intervention coordinator, program manager, community worker, youth worker and juvenile justice worker.
The Diploma of Youth Work is delivered over six, 9 week terms with a 2 week break between terms, and a summer break. However, students have the option to complete the Diploma of Youth Work in two, 9 week terms when the student has completed the Diploma of Community Welfare Work.
The study mode is full time and consists of 20 hours per week. Trainees have the option to study in a daytime or evening schedule subject to availability.

*The CHC50502 Diploma of Youth Work will continue to be offered in 2010. The College intends to offer a qualification from the new Community Services Training package CHC08 Diploma of Youth Work (CHC51408) to replace the Diploma of Youth Work (CHC50502).
