Job Assistance Sessions
CIC’s job assistance program aims to assist students seeking part-time work. Students will have the opportunity to practise essential skills needed to be successful in gaining part-time employment.
The job assistance program is open to all students, English, VET and Higher Education students, and is a free service. The program is offered within the English department and forms part of the English EXTRA’s program, this ensures that students are given the best possible chance of developing the skills required to apply for work.
When?
Two sessions are held every week.
The first session is held on Thursday from 11am to 12 noon and is led by Dhugal Beddingfield.
The second session is held on Thursday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm and is led by Juliet Foss.
What?
In both sessions students are given assistance in the following areas:
Resume writing
Cover letter writing
Job hunting skills
English for interviews
Presentation skills for the workplace
Where?
The sessions are held at the English language centre located at 459 Little Collins Street - level 14.
