The Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30208) provides trainees with a practical approach to caring for the older people within the community. This course equips trainees with the skills to provide physical and social support to elderly individuals and people with psychological disabilities throughout the aged care industry. The course is based on the National Community Services/Aged Care competency standards and reflects nationally endorsed industry requirements.
The Certificate IV in Aged Care (CHC40108) is a nationally recognised qualification for Aged Care workers in Australia. The course extends and increases on the knowledge from the Certificate III qualification.

On successful completion of this course, students are awarded the (CHC30208) Certificate III in Aged Care and/or the Certificate IV in Aged Care (CHC40108) depending upon the course undertaken.
Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other education providers are recognised by Cambridge International College.

Assessment methods include written assignments and/or tests, and practical assessments. More information will be given to the student in the first week of their course.
On successful completion of the Certificate III in Aged Care the trainee will have gained the skills and knowledge to work in various entry level positions in the aged care industry. On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Aged Care career opportunities may include Care Supervisors, Care Team Leaders or Program Coordinators.
People who pursue a career in aged care and have obtained a Certificate IV in Aged Care practice in residential facilities within defined organizational guidelines and seervice plans. You will carry out activities related to maintenance of an individual's well being through personal care and/or other activities of living.
In addition, you may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participatiion. This may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and center based programs. Reporting to service managers and liaison with professionals and other service providers may be part of your duties, and you may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.
The Certificate III in Aged Care is delivered over two 9-week terms. An additional 4 week industry placement is required at the end of the second term. There is a two week course break between each of the study periods. The Certificate IV in Aged Care is delivered over a further three 9 - week terms. An additional 2 week industry placement is required at the end of the third term. There is a two week course break between study periods.
The study mode is full-time. Delivery consists of 20 contact hours per week. Classes may be timetabled within a daytime or evening schedule. Student's timetable preference is subject to availability.
