Cambridge International College specialises in offering English language tuition for students preparing to enter further studies at a tertiary level. The program is designed to develop a student's skills in essay writing, giving oral presentations, reading academic texts and listening to lectures, as well as developing essential life skills such as critical thinking and research procedures.
Classes focus on advanced level tasks including academic reading, listening to lectures, note taking, researching, writing assignments, giving presentations and working in groups. Students also learn advanced grammar and vocabulary.
Students work from texts designed for Academic English plus additional materials including academic texts, magazine and newspaper articles. Students are assessed throughout the course using checklists and progress reports intended to monitor each student's progress.
All students must undertake a CIC test prior to admission. Admission into the the Academic English program is conditional on the student obtaining a sufficient level of English during this assessment. Please contact the College or a College representative in your country.
Students who successfully complete one module of the Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English (FS) are eligible to enter directly into a variety of courses at Cambridge International College as well as its partner providers.
