The Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program is suitable for non-native English speakers wishing to become teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) in a country where English is not the first language. During the course students will develop advanced communication skills as well a high level of understanding of English grammar. Class sizes have a maximum number of 12 students per group. Students must enrol for the full 10 week program.
The major components of the course are: Teaching language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and language systems (vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation), presenting, practicing and assessing language, planning lessons, effective use of resources and classroom management.
All students are assessed at orientation to provide information about their level of proficiency in English. Admission into the the TESOL program is conditional on the student obtaining a sufficient level of English during this assessment.
Students who would like to assess their level of English before they arrive at Cambridge International College may take our offshore placement test. Please contact the College or a College representative in your country.
Students who complete the Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English (FS) are eligible to enter directly into a variety of courses at Cambridge International College as well as its partner providers.
